Kiptopeke Sea Kayaking Symposium

Dates: Sept 15 – 17, 2017

Location: Kiptopeke State Park, Cape Charles, VA

Classes, trips and related events for paddlers of all skill levels. There is nothing else like it in the mid-Atlantic region. There will be 10 – 12 classes to choose from each day including those for "newish" paddlers (e.g., Beyond the Basics), intermediate paddlers (e.g., Intro to Rougher Water, Intro to Surf) and more advanced sea kayakers (e.g., Survival in the Surf Zone, Advanced Rescue Scenarios, Open Water Skills, Wreckage in the Wave Train). From the state park, we have immediate access to both the calmer waters of the Chesapeake Bay and the rougher water of the Atlantic Ocean.

The instructors are some of the best!  They include Jen Kleck (L5), Brian Blankinship (L4), Tom Noffsinger (L4), Paula Hubbard (L4), Ed Schiller (L4, L3 IT), Greg Hollingsworth (L3), Chris Raab (L4 IT), Ashley Brown (L5), Ken Fandetti (L3), Jeff Atkins (L4), and Rick Wiebush (L4, L3 IT).

Most participants stay together in the spacious and comfortable (6 BR, 3 Bath) lodges at the state park. People say this is one of the things that makes the event so special, because it results in a strong sense of camaraderie and community.

Full course listings for the 2017 symposium are available on the Cross Currents website. We hope you can join us!  http://www.crosscurrentsseakayaking.com/#!symposium

Cost: $450 includes all courses, three nights lodging and Saturday dinner.
