The Course: The Bellefonte Slalom is contested on Class 1 moving water, with one small drop. A challenging course will be set that includes a variety of slalom moves, with 20-25 gates. Gate heights will be set at or near the legal minimum for decked boats (8 inches). This is the final race in the annual Penn Cup race series (est. 1977) for beginning & intermediate paddlers. Team races may be contested, with on-site sign-ups (no fees).

Race Registration: Mailed entries must be postmarked by Saturday, October 7. You also can drop off entries at Tussey Mountain Outfitters by Saturday, October 7. We will accept on-site entries until 3pm on Saturday, October 14, subject to a late registration fee. Entries on Sunday require double fees and one class only.
The race is limited to the first 100 boats properly registered. All classes will be contested, provided there are at least 3 entries in the class. Classes with insufficient entries will either be combined with another class or left uncontested. Classes will be split by age groups if there are sufficient entries – be sure to include your birth date on the entry form. Each competitor must submit an entry form (2 entry forms are required for tandem boats) and the appropriate waiver form(s). Two waiver forms are included in this package: one for adults and one for minors. For questions concerning registration, contact Lee DeWolski at 814-353-7736,
leeski11@verizon.net or Rod Smith at rws1@psu.edu.
